The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen,
and in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
only begotten Son of God,
born of the Father
before all worlds,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten not made,
of one being with the Father,
through whom all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
He came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
He was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day He rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and His Kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.

I consider myself to be fairly open-minded and try to listen carefully to what others believe. I am confident enough in the truth of my own beliefs that I do not need to close my mind to new ideas which are divergent from my own and I do not need to denigrate another person and their ideas in order for me to be confident in myself and my beliefs.

However, this does not mean that I will back away from a good debate!

I am open to change in my beliefs (if any of my beliefs are proven false), although I am confident that the foundation on which my beliefs are based is unshakeable.
