133 March 13986 - I'm still here!

Well, I had a bit of a read of what Young Master Elliot had to say in the last diary note and I must tell you that the whole thing was wrong!!!

OK, there were some truths, like I was busy and all that, but I can assure you that the new dog is not to blame. The principal reason is that little Ralph was certainly not on heat.

The thing is that little Ralph just loves Star Trek and New Zealand music - roughly in that order. He's actually seen Chris Knox (a New Zealand musician in the Tall Dwarfs) live! So we've been hanging out. Also, Ralph does tend to have a bowl of food sitting around and no-one to guard it for him - so there is that added attraction.

Elliot also said that I had trouble eating - well, obviously, after the feast that Ralph lays on, I did have a few problems eating at home.

He also said that I am jumping six foot fences - no way! Why jump when you can flop? Elliot just did not realise that I was standing on the compost heap near the fence, putting my front paws on the side of the fence, bringing my back feet forward, then balancing on the fence, then just falling into the backyard. The confusion probably resulted from the fact that the compost heap is in the corner meant that I could fall into either Ralph's yard or the yard immediately behind me. Also, the yard behind has a box in the other corner which allows me to then drop into the yard next to us or the other diagonally opposite yard behind. Ok, so that's a bit confusing, but the compost heap basically gives me complete access to 4 backyards.

Needless to say, Master Craig has since dug down the compost heap and sealed off the fence - now I only have access to Rusty's place (next door). It's also true to say that I've spent the last couple of weeks chained to a garden bench - not much fun, but I do run straight for the hole in the fence whenever let off - so I can't blame him.

I'd better keep moving - I hope to write again next week in a little more detail.

So, lastly, I'll deal with Samantha's mail:

Roger and Ellie,

Great news, another little one. You are going to have so much fun.
Mistress said her brother is going to have his second baby at the end of
April. Now you will be able to get away with more because Master Craig
will have less time to watch you. While we have no children having 15
other animals in the house takes up a lot of Mistress Linda's time. I
can usually sneak around and eat the cat's food while she is feeding all
the caged animals. Sometimes I can get a carrot from the rabbits if I
stand just so on my hind feet and use my teeth. Quite worth the
conquest.

My advice to Roger is "The grass is not greener in the other yard" Stay
home where you are loved and appreciated. This new vixen will only
break your heart. Didn't you learn from your last adventure? New
smells only seem good. Given time they fade with the wind.

I just wanted to say I plan on watching the rabbits carefully because
Easter is comming. How do they deliver all those baskets and why the
colored eggs?

Samantha, The Curious.

I'm afraid that Ralph is incapable of breaking my heart - unless he stops "sharing" his food.

As for easter, I say "Bahh, Humbug!". Oh, no I don't - I say "The little easter treats are inside the rabbit - although, the ears aren't bad eating too". The baskets and eggs are just to distract you from the real treats....

a very nice picture of me I'd be very happy if you'd sign Master Craig's visitors' book before you leave (he won't create one for me).
