140 May 13972: We've been getting some good mail:

First, from Juanita:

This Letter Is for The Dogues and Not Humans:

As to your forced Internet isolation, our Local Canine Task Force have
conversed at length and would like to submit the following two ideas:

1.
Let Mistress Liz know in no uncertain terms that:
IF she allows you to have a Backyard Internet Connection,
THEN you might entertain her NOT having to name their new baby after you.

This may take a fair amount of barking.

2.
Another alternative (and one which more surely contributes to the Canine
Gross National Product) is a plan close to our hearts, something which,
in fact, occupies most of our spare time..... carefully (and secretly)
build a computer and telephone interchange staion.
Every chance we get, we search through trashbags for components.
Usually, we bury them for security reasons. It takes a lot of parts.

With best regards, Juanita the Dogge

I must admit that Juanita has really put some thought into her suggestions. The first suggestion to blackdogmail Mistress Liz certainly has some value. I'm not sure though that we want to give up our inherent naming rights - it's a freedom that dogs everywhere should retain. Without maintaining our freedoms - what are we? Am I not a dog? We will, nevertheless, continue with our barking regimen.

The alternative seems better to us. We'd certainly like to contribute to the CGNP (we normally buy only Australian canine products - we did slip up the other day, though, because when we were out shopping we saw a most delightful "Flaming Lips" band T-shirt. It's Ellie's favourite band and it was in her size (MD), whilst also being on sale).

We've started building the computer and telephone station. You're right - it is going to take a lot of trashbags to solve the problem, but we're young, we're free, we've got good teeth and we're diggers.

BTW, I'm going to use my contraption to help in building the station.

Next, to a win:

Dear Rogernald and Elanor,

I just wanted to bark out the following "THANK_YOU" because Linda, my
owner, is going to set up a home page for me. I realy like the advice
you gave her. Sometimes it is hard to think like her. I just wanted to
share the good news with you. By the way: What is your favorite
television show?

Thanks "BARK" Again,
                     Samantha aka Con Dog.

It's good to hear news such as Samantha's and even better that Master Craig has time to pursue the grand canine cause.

As to our favourite TV show, we like to watch quite a lot of the old TV. We have a soft spot for Seinfield (despite the show being caninfree), we love the Simpsons (Santa's Little Helper is just darling) and we have a warm spot for Murray in Mad About You. We like to watch shows with dogs in them since TV tends to be a bit canist.

We do have some ideas for a TV show starring dogs, though. The story surrounds a very good looking black labradorian (to break a few stereotypes), whose Master can never seem to get anything right. The charming Black Labradorian follows the Master around fixing up all the Master's disasters (the Black Labradorian can also sing very sweetly). For example, Master, whilst working on his car, manages to get electrocuted. Beautiful blackdog (let's call him "R"), rescues Master by giving him the Breath of Dog (Canine Protection Response "CPR"). Master awakes only to find R sitting in the sun chewing on a bone (apparently oblivious to the Master's problems). The Master says to R "Oh, if only you could've helped me in my moment of need, Beautiful blackdog!". R turns and winks at the camera. Titles roll.

Great, isn't it?

Ellie Take me to the next diary entry!

a very nice picture of me I'd be very happy if you'd sign Master Craig's visitors' book before you leave (he won't create one for me).
